I think the kid knew that monks don’t get mad about anything.

Paralysis

Someone looks a bit mad, originally uploaded by misa_.

Our blog has been quite dead lately. Alas. It’s because Ben’s been too busy playing the Wii ever since Wiiday, and because we visited Kansas City for Thanksgiving, and because I’m in a state of paralysis because of my graduate school application. I just have to convince myself that it’s ok if I don’t get in… I’ll figure out something else to do. Or try again. Right?

Kansas Dropping Science [1]

Wednesday, November 9th, 2005

Oh Kansas, why?
Kansas should want to attract scientists, not religious zealots.

Now that Kansas has accepted that science does not pertain solely to natural phenomena, they should move on to other unnatural phenomena such as ghosts, alchemy and voodoo. Really, why restrict it to creationism, or its new marketing term, Intelligent Design?

Honestly, it would be pretty amazing to see just how far Kansas can take this. Why not start an institute for studying some of these phenomena?

Are you a donor?

Wednesday, August 24th, 2005

Last week, Misa and I attended the 5th Annual Donate Life Golf Classic. We didn’t play since our golf skills are of the miniature variety. A cool band called The Elders performed during lunch. Click on the picture below to watch a movie of the band.

Check out the Donate Life website. One interesting thing about Donate Life is that the organization and its volunteers are almost entirely composed of organ donors, transplant recipients, and donor families. Everyone has an interesting story to share.
